The customization of my artwork fell

The customization of my artwork fell short of my preferences, and the prolonged duration to complete the children's book was dissatisfying. The cost was also a concern. Although someone else intervened to improve the book, my sentiments oscillate between satisfaction and dissatisfaction. Having been a customer since 2006, I believe there's room for improvement, and a partial refund would have been fair. Thanks to the team.

My book looked good when it got published. That was okay. But I need to tell anyone who wants to write a book to be careful. Even though my book was voted one of the best and has been out for over ten years, AuthorHouse says it only sold 250 copies and I only got 12 cents for each eBook sold! That's really low! For the paperback and hardback versions, I might get $1-$2 per book, even though it sells for more than $25. So, I only get about 5% of the book's price or less. Where does the rest of the money go??? If you self-publish there, you might lose a lot of money unless it's just for your ego. My book is sold all over the world and in big bookstores like Barnes and Noble, and it usually gets 4-5 stars. I think the whole industry is a joke and a scam and needs to be looked into more. AuthorHouse will give you lots of excuses why your book doesn't sell and why you get such low royalties. It's never their fault, and they say they'll do everything to help you, but really they're just helping themselves to your money. Don't believe them. Something is really wrong there, and that's why I'm on Trust Pilot because I don't trust AuthorHouse. The company and the whole industry need to be checked out properly, and authors should get the money they deserve. If the royalties are right after all the costs are taken out, then this is the worst-run company I've ever seen. You can self-publish if you want, but be ready for your book to probably not sell much (maybe less than 50 copies) and for you to lose a lot of money. I'm going to write another book, but I won't use AuthorHouse again.

I'm quite displeased with the outcome of my project, which I believe falls short in capturing the essence of my artistic writing and the editing proficiency of the alterhouses. While the overall quality is at 90%, I expected nothing less than a full 100% greatness, given the payment involved. The delayed delivery of the complimentary five copies of my book has only recently brought to my attention the issues within my project published through your establishment. I intend to reach out to Author House to discuss these concerns, seeking correction and a reprint of the material.

Author House seems to only care about money. They don't care if you're struggling mentally or if you're inexperienced. They promise success without knowing if it's true. Dealing with them was stressful. I had to fight to get my money back, and they still kept £60. Think carefully before publishing with them.

When I reached out to another employee about the issue, they attempted to push me into a deal as well. Despite promises of a manager contacting me to address my complaint, no such follow-up occurred. Subsequent online reviews detailing my experience prompted a response from the company, acknowledging the problem and pledging to address it. However, the overall lack of professionalism and unresponsiveness from the customer service team raises serious concerns about the company's legitimacy. Given my experience, I caution others to carefully consider alternative and more reputable publishing options before engaging with this company.

Warning! Beware of this publishing nightmare! In 2018, I lost $1,800 to Author House Publishing. Despite dealing with six different consultants over six years, including Leigh Allen and Nolan Estate, my book project was a disaster. The editorial service, promised to be finished in 2023, never materialized. They incessantly pushed unnecessary services and bombarded me with calls to buy additional packages. After submitting my manuscript, no editor was assigned, and my calls went unanswered. The promised Christmas discount was a sham. On 12/12/23, they abruptly canceled my editing with a vague excuse. Communication with this company is a major issue – they take forever to respond to emails and redirect you to different departments without resolving concerns. I made the mistake of paying the full amount upfront for my book, "My Life in a Letter," only to find that my dyslexic issues with vowels and punctuation were completely ignored. Despite my attempts to address the errors and the cover not meeting my expectations, it took five months to get a response. The upfront payment system lacks clarity, leaving me clueless about where to specify details for the cover. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and quality control has left me with a shameful and embarrassing book, and I'm reluctant to continue publishing with them.

The desired book quality remains elusive, leaving me hesitant about publishing my next three books with this company.

I initially stated that I wanted my book to be a size of 8.5x11. During the process it was changed to 6x9. I didn’t know until I actually ordered a copy for myself. I immediately asked for it to be reformatted. I have worked with several people since. Most do not respond in a timely manner. I have to send four or five emails before I get a response. This has been going on since October 2023. It is currently mid December 2023 and I am still waiting to approve the reformatting of my book.
