I am trying to stay neutral right now. I paid for the basic plan ($140) and received two rough drafts that I was not happy with. I spent two hours last night going through them line by line in an email to Sarine T. and still haven’t gotten a reply. The drafts felt like they were making me sound less competent. So far, I’m not impressed. But, to be fair, I haven’t gotten the final version yet. The drafts seemed like something I could have done myself using a Microsoft Word template. I feel like I am doing most of the work, just waiting for them to copy it onto a template. Hope this ends well. I will update as things move along.

So, I wanted an executive CV done. Gave them my CV and LinkedIn, answered their questions. First, they sent me back my LinkedIn, just a summary of my CV. Then they said I gotta fill in the details already in my CV. Went back and forth on this, no progress. Asked for a refund as I didn't trust they could do it in time. They offered a supervisor, I said no, took too long and first attempt sucked. They offered again, I said no, then said I can't have my money back. Sneaky, right? After the first version, I tried to see what skills the writer had. Being an exec and paying for the top package, you'd think they'd guide you. But nope, just formatting. Feel like I've been tricked. They make it seem like they'll optimize your CV, but they don't. Just send it to some cheap place to make money. Basically just reformatting. You can find that free online. Worst service in years. Avoid them.

ZipJob's team is all offshore, probably in India, and they're not exactly Shakespearean with English. They'll stuff your resume with keywords till it's ready to explode any recruiter's brain. And guess what? They charge you for a call to explain how they messed it up. End of the day, you'll be doing more work fixing their not-so-great English and outdated business style. Plus, good luck getting a refund – they're not handing those out. Total buyer beware situation. And seriously, the Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches letting ZipJob flaunt their logo? Smells fishy.
