My kid just wrapped up Level 2 and he's still super into it! We hit some tech snags along the way, but Codewizards really stepped up to help us out. They always respond to my questions really fast, usually within hours, sometimes a day. It’s nice to know they got our back.

The instructor was super cool. But man, some kids managed to slip through without saying a peep the entire time. Pretty frustrating, especially if they end up getting top marks for participation. Here's hoping the next round is a bit more talkative!

Choosing a coding class among many options was tough, but I'm happy I went with CodeWizards. Their courses are well-organized, and the class size is reasonable. My child is picking up new skills in each course, and I'm satisfied with my choice.

My son tried out lots of free and paid courses, but nothing really grabbed his attention. Then he found Ms. Zahria Thomas's class, and it's like a whole new world for him. The small class setting makes a huge difference, letting him connect and feel comfortable. He’s actually excited about learning now, which I hadn't seen before. Ms. Thomas has this amazing way of teaching that just clicks with him. Now, he's so into it that he's already talking about signing up for more courses. It's awesome to see him so engaged and eager to learn. This class has been a game-changer for him, and we're both really grateful for it.

He has made so much more progress having an instructor every week than he did with the occasional instruction he received prior to the classes. The workload is light enough that it doesn’t add much stress to our schedule. My son would do well with a slightly more aggressive schedule, but I think for kids who aren’t head over heels about coding it is probably pushing them just right.

I've been happy with the

I've been happy with the classes for my son; he's loving them and learning a lot! The teachers are fantastic, and the content is solid. But, the communication from the company? Not so much. I've gotten incorrect details about upcoming classes, schedules, and available spots from different people. It’s super frustrating, especially when I can't even get someone on the phone. Emails are a mess too, with different people replying each time. We’re sticking with it because the classes themselves are great, but the poor communication is really getting to me. At one point, they tried moving my son to the next level while he still had 25% of his current class left. Also, his last class was only 11 sessions instead of 12, with no explanation. They really need to fix this!

As a software engineer with 25 years of experience, I signed my child up for this weekly coding class. The best part? The weekly consistency and having a real teacher on Zoom. It’s great seeing my kid interact with someone live. However, the course material itself was pretty outdated. They used old HTML, JavaScript, and CSS practices, focusing on jQuery instead of modern frameworks. They didn't teach contemporary JavaScript enhancements like "let" and "const." The coursework was often poorly written and designed, making things confusing. The IDE was buggy and not user-friendly. Overall, while the human interaction is valuable, the course material needs serious updating to meet current industry standards.

The Codewizards website is ironically buggy – can't register on Android, and the student portal's glitchy when switching between kids. Despite these tech hiccups, we're still upbeat about the program.

The overall experience was decent, but I believe there's room for improvement in providing a more challenging coding curriculum for young learners.

I’ve always liked their courses,

I’ve always liked their courses, but now they want you to pay for the whole block upfront, which is over $400. If you’re not a US resident, you can't even pay in instalments. My son has been working through the courses for years, one by one, and suddenly they changed the rules. Now if he doesn’t pay everything in advance, he can't continue. It feels really unfair to loyal customers like us who have been supporting them for a long time. I mean, who has that kind of money just lying around? It’s really disappointing to see them treat their dedicated users this way.

Not recommended!

Their assignment help service is a sham. Got an email saying my kid could join a session for help at a certain time. Spent an hour trying to join, no one let him in. Emailed Natalie about the scam, no response. Another problem last Saturday, my son couldn't finish class work because the code was too small. Son told the instructor, nothing changed. Emailed Jenn, she said watch the recording and do the work. Sounds absurd. Waste class time, then do it alone. Refund policy only protects company, not customer. Must pay even if class quality is bad.

Hey Code Wizard HQ, I've been with you guys for years and my daughter Olivia has loved every bit of your programming courses. She just finished the Capstone 1 and was super excited to dive into your "Introduction to Java" course, especially since she’s been getting into Java at school. But when we tried to get her into the Java course, we hit a wall. The support we got was really lacking, almost like no one believed she could handle it despite her enthusiasm and the skills she's picked up from your other courses. It felt like a major letdown. Olivia’s love for programming really grew with your help, and now it feels like she's stuck right when she needs to move forward the most. It’s frustrating to see this, especially from a place we’ve trusted for so long. I hope you guys can rethink how you help students progress in the future. Best, Robert

It was kind of a mess

Honestly, I’m not thrilled with Code Wizard HQ. My kid started an intro coding class there, and it was kind of a mess. The instructor just wouldn't answer questions during class. He kept saying, “Wait till after,” but then at the end of the session, he’d just bounce off the call. This happened like four or five times! You know, coding is something where you build on what you've learned, so when my kid got behind, it was super hard to catch up. He got really stressed out and upset because he wasn’t getting the help he needed. I tried talking to Code Wizard HQ about it, but all they offered was a discount for the next class. Didn't really fix anything. I'd suggest checking out other options for coding schools.

The instructor lacked expertise, merely following a script. Homework grading cut into instructional time, hindering our child's learning. The user interface proved perplexing for both kids and parents. Worse, homework is done on Scratch, exposing children to public criticism. Despite a pricey investment, CodeWizard disappoints, operating more as a profit-driven machine than a quality educational service. Seek better value elsewhere for a more enriching learning experience.
